Boathouse
It's big. It's a bubble. It glows like a lantern. It's a landmark on the east shore of White Rock Lake, not just for its architecture, but also for the crews that call it "home".
In December 2017, Dallas United Crew received approval from the Dallas Park and Recreation Board and the Dallas City Council to construct, operate and maintain an equipment shelter and other improvements on the premises the organization leases from the City. DUC operations are located at the Northern end of White Rock Lake at 417 East Lawther Drive. DUC selected a Guard-All Tension Fabric facility and it is capable of housing all of the organization's equipment, allowing DUC to conduct all operations out of one location. Being located in the flood plain of White Rock Lake, the facility is designed to handle the flooding that typically occurs and does not impact the water capacity of the White Rock watershed.
The facility is equipped with Focus Rack telescoping boat racks and oar racks. These state of the art storage systems allow the maximum usage of the storage space, and allow athletes to easily and quickly access the necessary gear.
In addition to the equipment shelter for the rowing and paddling gear, DUC paved the existing gravel parking lot to create an ADA parking lot. With the addition of a 150' fixed dock extension and an EZ Dock floating launch dock, we created the perfect facility for our Adaptive Rowing program. As well, the floating dock is capable of simultaneously launching or recovering up to four rowing shells. Being located on a Dallas City Park, this is all open and available to the public.
