Guest Protocols And Location Guidelines

All visiting rowers, paddlers, and launch drivers must review DUC’s official White Rock Lake traffic pattern map prior to launching(located on the Safety page). Dock time is strictly managed, especially during peak morning and weekend hours—please keep launch and landing times under 5 minutes to keep traffic moving smoothly for all crews.

Located in a nearby shopping center just a few miles north of the boathouse, The Power Plant is DUC’s dedicated satellite land-training facility.

  • Features: Dedicated Concept 2 Row Ergometer Room and Concept 2 Bike Ergometer Room.
  • Access & Reservations: Visiting teams and drop-in athletes using erg passes must reserve access in advance.
  • Facility Rules: All athletes must wear clean athletic shoes, wipe down Concept 2 equipment after use, and reset erg/bike resistance handles to zero before leaving.
Single sculls, team shells, and dragon boats at the boathouse are allocated based on prior reservation and availability. Visiting athletes and teams must complete a quick equipment orientation with DUC staff before rigging or launching boats.
  • Boathouse Parking: Use the lot south of the boathouse (towards Big Thicket) or parallel roadside spaces (ensuring all four wheels remain completely off the pavement).
  • Power Plant Parking: Park in designated spaces within the shopping center parking lot directly adjacent to The Power Plant storefront.
